Our certified roofing technicians begin with a comprehensive inspection of your current roof. This is a critical step to determine if reroofing is a viable and appropriate solution for your home.

We assess the condition of your existing shingles, looking for excessive curling, buckling, widespread damage, or multiple layers of existing shingles.

Crucially, we inspect the underlying roof deck for any signs of rot, water damage, or structural instability. If the roof deck is compromised, or if there are already two or more layers of shingles, a full tear-off and replacement will be recommended instead of reroofing.

We also check the ventilation system and flashing around chimneys, vents, and skylights to ensure they are in good condition.

Once reroofing is confirmed as the best option, our team takes measures to protect your property. This includes covering landscaping, driveways, and other vulnerable areas with tarps.

We ensure easy access for materials and debris removal.

Before applying the new layer, we address any minor issues on the existing roof. This might include fastening loose shingles, flattening curled edges, or replacing a few severely damaged shingles to create a smooth, stable base for the new layer.

Any exposed nails from the old shingles are hammered down to prevent puncturing the new layer.

Existing flashing around chimneys, skylights, and vent pipes is inspected. While generally not replaced during a reroof, it must be in excellent condition to prevent leaks. We ensure it's clean and ready for the new shingle layer.

Vents and other roof penetrations are prepared to accommodate the new shingle thickness.

Our experienced roofers begin installing the new layer of asphalt shingles directly over the existing ones. This process requires careful alignment and precise nailing to ensure proper adhesion and weather resistance.

We start from the bottom edge of the roof (eaves) and work our way up, overlapping each shingle correctly to create a watertight seal.

Special attention is paid to valleys, hips, and ridges to ensure robust protection in these critical areas.

Once all new shingles are installed, our team focuses on the details. This includes proper sealing of all penetrations and edges.

We conduct a thorough cleanup of the work area, removing all debris, old shingle pieces, and nails (often using magnetic sweeps) to leave your property as tidy as we found it.

A final inspection is performed by our project manager to ensure the reroofing job meets X-Tream Roofing's high standards of quality and craftsmanship, as well as all local building codes.
